Nick Baldwin

The Michael Sedgwick Memorial Trust are sad to have to record the passing on 10th January 2024 of one of their longest-serving trustees, Nick Baldwin. A trustee from the first meetings of the Trust in 1984, Nick continued for over 35 years until 2019, latterly making the sometimes difficult journey from his then home in France for meetings. The Trust were pleased to be able to support his books  A-Z of Cars of the 1920s and Proprietary Engines - a Shire Book.

Nick was editor of Old Motor and a publisher of motoring titles until the untimely death of his partner in that business, Prince Marshall, forced him to sell to the Frederick Warne concern. A leading authority on the world's Commercial Vehicles and Tractors, and the author of many books on those subjects, Nick was also a member of the Sherlock Holmes Society.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with his wife, Julie.
