The RAC Motoring Book of the Year Awards have become an annual fixture in the RAC Motoring Motor Week that culminates in the annual London to Brighton run for pre-1905 cars.
This year, the MSMT were proud to have supported the overall winner of Book of the Year, Power Unleashed - Trailblazers who energised Engines with Supercharging and Turbocharging by Karl Ludvigsen. The Award was presented on Wednesday 29th October 2025 at a gathering of Publishers, Authors and Motoring Enthusiasts at the RAC in Pall Mall.
Presenting the award, RAC Chairman, Duncan Wiltshire expressed a wish to be as active and writing such major works at the age of 91, as Karl's enthusiasm is undiminished. Published by Evro, this work is a three-volume work covering not only automotive developments but also the parallel evolution of supercharging and turbocharging in aviation. It must be the last word on the subject until there are further developments.
